The 131st birth anniversary of Acharya Vinoba Bhave was observed across Andhra Pradesh. Andhra Pradesh Sarvodaya Mandal organised a week of service, interfaith prayers, peace walks and student competitions in Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Tirupati, Guntur and Kurnool.

Speakers recalled the Bhoodan movement begun at Pochampally in 1951 — a peaceful chapter in which land was given to the landless through a change of heart, not through violence.

President Neelam Rambabu Naidu appealed to live the call of Jai Jagat. Former Vijayawada Mayor Jandhyala Shankar, Roots Foundation Chairman Vijay Bhaskar, Vice-President V. Latha and office-bearers offered floral tributes.
